Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a Kentucky State Certified electrician or have a 2 years college Electrical degree.
- Cannot have any safety violations in the previous 12 months.
- Cannot be on second written warning for disciplinary reasons, disciplinary suspension in the past 12 months, or have more than (4) attendance points (internal candidates only).
- Two or more years related experience in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC).
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Must have the ability to run conduit as directed and to the National Electric Code requirements.
- Strong electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and ability to read electric schematics a plus.
- Self-motivated detail–oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated work history.
Responsibilities
- PLC programming and trouble shooting.
- Working knowledge of and ability to trouble shoot HMI’s, PLC’s, SERVO devices, robotic automation and control systems a plus.
- Performs a variety of electrical functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
- Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
- Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
- Locates and diagnoses, repair of electrical system or equipment, sensors, transmitters, field devices, VFD’s, control devices and components.
- Install and maintain data, Ethernet and internet, CAT5 or equivalent cabling and components.
- Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Uses a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
- Troubleshoots and evaluates electrical systems.
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to equipment operators.
- Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Perform new system installations, replacements, new control technology upgrades.
- Respond to production needs as they occur on the production floor.
- Participates in the preventive and predictive maintenance programs for any plant electrical, electronic, and instrument equipment or control system.
- Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Work professionally with co-workers and other department personnel.
- Follow SQF, Company GMP, and 5S guidelines to produce a safe and quality product.
- Performs Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with computerized or automated controls and ability to read electric schematics a plus.
