Requirements

  • Experience with ASIC or FPGA design languages and workflows, including VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
  • Knowledge of ASIC or FPGA functional verification, analysis, and techniques using simulation and emulation, UVM testbenches, or formal verification
  • Ability to learn custom integrated circuit layouts for digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs
  • Ability to learn hardware assurance, trust, and cybersecurity concepts
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, participate in client meetings, and deliver presentations
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering by Winter 2026 or Spring 2027

Responsibilities

  • Support critical government research and development programs related to microelectronics design and verification
  • Work with industry-leading engineers in world-class research facilities
  • Provide technical management support and strategic assessments of new technologies to support senior DoD decision makers
  • Conduct background research in evaluating the feasibility of and potential applications for new technological concepts
  • Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients
  • Assist with technical program management and program development
  • Brief materials out for government research and development efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial EDA or Open Source tools for VLSI design, synthesis, place and route physical design, integration, timing, and power optimization, including vendors such as Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, or Xilinx
  • Experience writing UVM or SystemVerilog tests and collecting coverage metrics for functional verification
  • Experience with the design of electronic architectures using microprocessors and peripherals, including oscillators, SRAM, or Flash
  • Experience performing technical research, documenting results, and presenting findings to customers and stakeholders
  • Experience with embedded GNU and Linux
  • Secret clearance
