Requirements

  • A degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry
  • One to three years of experience in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of Indiana and US environmental regulations and ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards
  • Experience with air permitting and reporting and hazardous waste management
  • Waste water treatment operations experience
  • Passion for people and the environment
  • Ability to work in both a team and individual setting
  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly
  • Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to use a variety of software applications to analyze, monitor data, conduct reports, and presentations.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, extensive walking, confined spaces, wear a respirator and handle exposures to hot/cold environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the site’s environmental programs including developing procedures, maintaining records, reporting internally and externally, and training teammates
  • Manage the on site waste water treatment operations, implement projects to improve efficiency and reduce the potential for system upsets
  • Devise strategies to meet targets and to encourage best practice
  • Coordinate projects that reduce the site’s impact on the environment
  • Manage ISO14001 and 45001 systems and serve as a lead auditor for EHS Management Systems
  • Assist and/or lead investigations into environmental incidents
  • Analyze data and suggest improvements to programs and processes
  • Support site’s involvement in Indiana’s Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) and Partner’s for Pollution Prevention efforts by attending meetings, implementing best practices, and sharing information.
  • Write plans and reports as needed
  • Keeping up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives
  • Participate with other departments on Lean, TPM, 5S or other improvements
