Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership skills, a comfort level with change, and the ability to lead change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills, strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Smartsheets.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws and regulations related to EHS, including but not limited to: OSHA/EPA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and follow-up skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Acts with integrity in all EHS matters to maintain EHS compliance and excellence.
  • Ability to lead teams and facilitate effective meetings. Independently motivated and takes initiative.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years EHS experience required.
  • Training experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains strategies, operations, and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS legislation, regulations, and company requirements at all Wicked Weed Brewing locations.
  • Facilitates an inclusive, forward looking safety culture based on leading indicators.
  • Ensure ownership and integration to drive sustainable EHS management systems.
  • Ensures facilities meet state and federal OSHA safety standards and federal/local environmental requirements.
  • Manages State or OSHA/EPA site inspections.
  • Knowledge & experience to provide effective training on all appropriate safety/environmental related topics.
  • Development of EHS improvement initiatives and the daily management of on-going EHS operations.
  • Provide leadership to senior management team regarding the EHS strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Directs activities to conduct investigations, identify root cause and recommend corrective measures at all Wicked Weed Brewing locations.
  • Represents the facility to external regulatory agencies and supports the negotiation of penalties.
  • Manages medical claims as they relate to Worker’s Compensation at all Wicked Weed Brewing locations.
  • Directs activities to compile EHS information and other data as required by Zone, State and Federal agencies (OSHA, EPA, and state / local equivalents).
  • Identify unsafe behaviors and unsafe conditions in the workplace using regulatory requirements & best safety practices.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (federal, state, and provincial) and apply them to the workplace.
  • Identifies and recommends resources, equipment, processes, and procedural changes to control or eliminate workplace hazards and minimize environmental impacts.
  • Work with site leadership to ensure site security and safe contractor management.
  • Develop, conduct, and track EHS training and education including compliance with federal and state occupational safety and health administration, environmental protection standards, and Wicked Weed Brewing policies.
  • Perform safety and environmental audits and inspections to comply with all current federal, state, county, and city requirements as well as Wicked Weed Brewing policies.
  • Participate in safety hazard notification (SHN) and near miss reporting and communication. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and ensure proper records/documents are maintained.
  • Monitor and maintain PPE inventory and availability.
  • Work with Sr. Dir. Ops. to maintain safety budget.
  • Assist with environmental sampling (e.g., stormwater sampling) and/or industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Perform duties to assist other departments (e.g., Maintenance and Brewing operations) with tasks such as Contractor Orientation, Confined Space Entry, and completion of Work Permits.
  • Participate in and lead, Safety Committee (Danger Dodgers) and Environmental Committee (Green Freaks).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant EHS certification preferred (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CEM, etc.).
