Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 12+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or a related field
- Or an Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 10+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or a related field
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry
- In-depth knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and tools
- Experience with systems integration, requirements analysis, and verification and validation processes, with particular interest in the area of digital engineering
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and related tools (e.g., Cameo EA, Cameo Systems Modeler)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering teams, including experience with performance management, team development, and conflict resolution
- Understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and resource allocation
- Knowledge of industry standards, best practices and methods with regard to digital engineering or digital transformation relevant to the aerospace and defense sectors
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required after day one
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Define standard work for Digital capability implementation and use by military programs
- Assess and foster the common development, implementation and utilization of Digital tools on military engine programs
- Create and implement objective measures for each Digital capability, and lead their implementation and use
- Drive cohesion for the Digital Transformation across military engines programs and continue to mature the Digital Integration Discipline as discipline chief
- Gather requirements and user stories on Digital capability needs from military engines programs
- Develop a backlog for Digital capability development with all relevant stakeholders
- Work with programs and business development to assess, define and document customer requirements and desires for Digital capability implementation, driving into the overall Digital capability development backlog as appropriate
- Work with other MBE stakeholders to build a coalition driving execution of the military engines Digital backlog
- Contribute to the architectural development, integration and implementation on military programs of the Collaborative Digital Environment
- Spearhead the development of a comprehensive data implementation and sharing strategy with legal, cybersecurity and business stakeholders
- Leverage Digital capabilities in the area of OA, vulnerability and signature.
