Requirements
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings using Creo 3D software
- Knowledge of PLM software for storing CAD files and maintaining Bills of Material
- Ability to troubleshoot design issues and collaborate with engineers
- Experience in project management and managing drawing assignments
- Associate’s (technical) degree in Mechanical Drafting or 4 years of work related experience in lieu of a degree
Responsibilities
- Prepare 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Assist engineers in troubleshooting designs and drawings
- Maintain engineering release and change documentation
- Manage projects for a team of drafters
- Work closely with customers to identify project scope requirements
- Create or modify 3D models and engineering drawings for use in manufacturing
- Verify 3D models and engineering drawings meet customer needs and adhere to Caterpillar Engineering Standards
- Create engineering notices for all 3D model and engineering drawing changes
- Utilize project management program to create/assign/manage various drawing assignments
- Interface daily with customers to provide project updates and discuss project discrepancies
