Requirements
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to our clients
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, doctors, and clients.
- Serve the critical role of being the liaison between doctors, technicians, clients, and patients
- Ability to read and interpret Doctors plans, perform basic medical calculations, and prepare estimates with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to effectively communicate medical terms and procedures with clients
- Handle delicate conversations around after life care with clients in a compassionate and respectful manner
- Prepare patient discharge reports and in-hospital updates
- Manage a high call volume, communicating with clients, referring veterinarians, and pharmacies as needed regarding appointments, medical concerns, patient updates, referrals, and prescriptions
- Handle financial transactions, assisting clients with credit applications as needed
- Regularly attend staff meetings
- Work closely with our medical teams to ensure a positive outcome at each visit
- Assist across multiple departments during downtime
- Facilitate client visits
- Record all communications with owners in the practice management software
- Understand basic pharmacology of commonly used medications, including calculating, handling, labeling, and dispensing.
- Maintain a working knowledge of veterinary medical terms, abbreviations, procedures and conditions

Preferred Qualifications
- Preferably have a minimum two-years veterinary experience in a customer service and/or veterinary assistant role
- Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in a clear and audible voice
- Be naturally empathetic and articulate communicators
- Be comfortable working with computer software
- Have a desire to help people through what is often a stressful event in their lives
- Have a friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor
- Have critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Work well as a team and independently
- Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holiday shifts.
