Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience (in the biomedical field) or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively guide and motivate teams.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, assimilate information quickly, analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions as required.
- Ability to work independently while developing a functioning team. Must have excellent public relations skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, hospital personnel, physicians, volunteers, and donors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including training, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- A current, valid driver’s license and a good driving record is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor assigned collections budget to ensure sufficient capacity and effective utilization of resources.
- Responsible for managing assigned mobile operations and may oversee the use of multiple technologies. Coordinate with multiple department functional areas to ensure achievement of assigned collection goals, business initiatives, and metrics for quality, service excellence and process improvement in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
- Monitor, evaluate and correct donor flow and customer service problems in collaboration with Donor Recruitment, to enhance the donor experience and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
- Manage, coach and mentor supervisors and staff in accordance with personnel policies and bargaining unit contracts, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employment decisions to enhance success of the operation and minimize turnover.
- Ensure appropriate staffing is in place to efficiently and effectively run operations. Coordinate department training and/or communication protocols, including in-services, regulatory requirements, and new staff training. Ensure teams successfully perform collections that meet patient need, such as right-type mix and demand requirements for day of week and manufacturing location.
- May operate ARC vehicles as required, including load, set up, maintain, and tear down supplies and equipment as required.
- Ensure effective internal and external communication between all department levels and functions to foster teamwork and enhance operational success.
- Participate in divisional and national projects.
- Travel: up to 60% within the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Change management experience
- Experience working in supply chain management/logistics
- Experience working with union staff; able to manage union relations
- 5+ years of leadership experience within the Blood banking/blood product industry
