Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 8+ years of public accounting and/or in-house corporate tax department experience (or equivalent)
- Advanced knowledge of ASC 740 and SSAP 101
- Advanced knowledge of insurance company and corporate taxation
- Strong working abilities with tax technology (e.g., Corptax or Longview), automation and visualization tools (e.g., robotics platforms, Tableau and Tableau Prep), and Excel
- High exposure and experience with respect to accounting for income taxes pursuant to ASC 740
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills, with an ability to address complex tax matters in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals
- Proven process-improvement and documentation track record
- Ability to analyze statutes, regulations and guidance and then make recommendations and take action
- Experience enabling growth, driving operational effectiveness, managing risk and improving the quality, speed and availability of data relevant to tax matters
- Track record in prioritizing competing demands, sound decision-making and delivering results on tight timelines
- Experience working with digital technologies including common tax provision and compliance platforms
- Experience working in a matrix environment, influencing strategy and achieving goals by working with people across the organization
- Detail-oriented, organized and possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills, with an ability to address complex tax matters in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Lead income tax compliance
- Support financial reporting
- Represent the Tax Department with other functional areas
- Partner with tax team members in tax planning
- Develop and manage relevant key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Manage special projects, including M&A, integrations and system conversions
