Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Software, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related engineering field relevant experience could also be considered.
  • A Strong background in Embedded Software/System (e.g., C programming language), Control or Advanced Control.
  • Extensive experience of leading software or control team with 10+ years.
  • Experience in the whole software development lifecycle (e.g., V-model)
  • Strategic thinker, able to translate requirements into executable actions and able to grow the team into a high-performing, highly motivated team.
  • Strong execution ability, sense of urgency and “can-do” attitude.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dealing with customers, sales, outside service providers and other stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and able to thrive and succeed in times of ambiguity and change.
  • Able travel domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing (including hiring) our Global Software & Control Engineering function and adopting the State-of-the-Art design and validation practices or methodologies.
  • Taking full ownership and be accountable for Software & Control Engineering function’s output to support both development and customer projects across all our product lines (power electronics, motors, thermals, energy storages).
  • Setting clear objectives and key results for the team and driving the team to execute and achieve them with first-time-right and staying on-time.
  • Driving the team to support Applications, Product, and Sales on new business opportunities with technical supporting including RFQs review/preparation, design reviews, and discussions with customers.
  • Supporting Operations for any manufacturing or quality issues and working with the team to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Partner with global software service provider(s) for them to support our software development and deliver high-quality results.
  • Developing the novel control algorithm for next-generation products and increasing the automations across all activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of power electronics products (such as motor inverters, DCDCs or chargers), vehicle/motor control, or BMS (battery management system).
  • Experience of using MATLAB/SIMULINK and Atlassian software (e.g., Jira).
  • Functional safety standards, such as ISO26262, IEC61508, D0178B or similar, and Cybersecurity standards, such as ISO 21434.
  • APQP, or similar project milestone-based processes.
  • Working with large OEMs or tier 1 suppliers, in markets such as automotive, rail and aerospace.
