Requirements
- 12+ years relevant legal experience with at least 4+ years of in-house legal experience supporting hardware and software products, specifically in robotics, automotive, or AI technology sectors.
- 5+ years leading specialty groups as part of a broader functional organization
- Demonstrated expertise in IP, cybersecurity, data privacy, product liability and regulatory compliance for physical and AI-driven products.
- Deep understanding of AI/ML legal frameworks, responsible-AI governance and emerging regulatory trends.
- Ability to negotiate and lead high-stakes, complex commercial and technology transaction agreements with vendors, customers and collaborators.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; admitted to the bar and in good standing in the jurisdiction of hire, or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status).
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal counsel on all aspects of physical AI product development, deployment, and lifecycle management, including robotics, automotive, and AI model integration.
- Lead legal risk assessments and compliance strategies for physical AI products, ensuring robust compliance with safety, cybersecurity, data privacy, and product liability regulations across global markets.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial, technology, and partnership agreements with suppliers, customers, and technology partners.
- Develop templates, playbooks and new product terms as our teams innovate.
