Requirements

  • 8–10+ years in investment banking, consulting, or buy-side investing coupled with operational experience at a fast-paced, scaling company.
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or public tech companies, with a strong track record of evaluating R&D investments through a return driven framework.
  • Proven ability to connect financial models to real-world business outcomes. Exceptional at turning complex data into actionable insight.
  • Experience with investment frameworks, capital allocation, zero-based budgeting, and activity-based costing.
  • Familiarity with technical teams, product roadmaps, and the product development lifecycle, especially how they influence financial planning.
  • Excited to improve systems, streamline processes, and scale infrastructure.
  • Confident with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners. Skilled in executive-level presentations and board materials.
  • Advanced Excel/Sheets skills. Bonus points for Looker, NetSuite, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive, or Pigment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities for R&D and CoR, from monthly close to long-range planning.
  • Design and operationalize a VC-style R&D investment framework that sharpens our investment lens and unlocks engineering leverage.
  • Act as the go-to finance leader for Product, Engineering, and Operations, bringing financial depth to resourcing, roadmapping, and cross-functional decision-making.
  • Partner with GTM finance to drive insights and analysis around Product ARR and revenue expansion.
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, including senior executives and board-level stakeholders. Drive financial storytelling that informs critical decisions.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 3+ analysts, fostering ownership, growth, and strategic thinking.
  • Enhance and automate core financial models, systems, and reporting infrastructure to support a fast-growing business.
  • Contribute to earnings preparation, guidance modeling, and external reporting as we evolve as a public company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CFA preferred.
