Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate security, law enforcement, executive protection, physical security systems, installation, or integration or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields of study include security administration, criminal justice, or another discipline closely aligned with the responsibilities of the position
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), and/or other related professional security designation strongly desired
  • Proficiency with security technologies and systems, such as access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection systems
  • Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated expertise in managing crisis situations
  • Understanding of differences in practices and standards across geographies and cultures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and team environment
  • Experience in managing large-scale security projects, including budget management and resource allocation
  • Ability to identify risk, define mitigation measures and maintain a protective mindset based on experience in leading conducting and understanding security management in a vulnerability assessment culture
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across a global organization, lead through influence, build strong relationships, and work collaboratively across all businesses and functions
  • Ability to gather, critically evaluate, and present information in an organized manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills to speak and communicate effectively at all levels

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global physical security strategy, policies, long-term physical security initiatives, and overall targets for global operations that align with Allegion’s mission of keeping people safe and secure where they live, learn, work and visit
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to standardize physical security solutions, and collaborate with external partners to execute and service security systems and processes
  • Collaborate with business and product leaders, plant managers, cross-functional business leaders and IT to integrate physical security considerations into business processes, decision-making, and resource allocation and capital (CapEx) and long-range planning (LRP)
  • Build a cross-functional network of strong partnerships with internal stakeholders including but not limited to cybersecurity, business and product leaders, engineering, operations, EHS, legal, HR, and external stakeholders including Physical Access Control System (PACS) partners, system integrators, security partners and service providers
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to integrate physical and cyber security measures, addressing the convergence of threats and ensuring a comprehensive security posture
  • Establish and implement robust processes, metrics, and leading and lagging KPIs to effectively monitor, measure, and enhance physical security performance; proactively identify and implement corrective actions for off-track metrics
  • Collaborate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritize and execute projects and mitigate risks
  • Conduct regular physical security audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop global standards and standard operating procedures for onsite security guard operations and partner with procurement to establish master service agreements (MSAs) to drive consistency across global operations
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain emergency response and business continuity plans for various security incidents; coordinate and ensure corporate alignment of local response plans
  • Maintain compliance with relevant security regulations, laws, and industry standards
  • Conduct or oversee investigations into security breaches, theft, or unauthorized access and coordinate with local teams and law enforcement, as necessary
  • Develop and implement comprehensive travel security protocols and executive protection measures to ensure the safety of employees during business travel and provide tailored security solutions for executives, VIPs, and other high-profile individuals
  • Provide security training and awareness programs to employees at all levels to enhance security consciousness, business and site awareness and preparedness, and mitigate security risks
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures, which may include visitor management, security clearances, and incident reporting
  • Present strategic plans, initiatives, and performance updates regularly to senior leadership, business and site leaders, and others in the organization
  • Stay updated with the latest security technologies and innovations to ensure the organization’s physical security systems remain effective
  • Partner with Engineering teams to understand Allegion’s products and enable the ability to provide test environments for these at Allegion facilities
  • Direct and manage the facilities team and budget for Americas regional offices in Carmel, IN and at the Hague Road Technical Center (HRTC)
