Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience as an applied AI or ML engineer, with a successful track record of innovative features deployed at scale.
- 4+ years of experience managing a high-performing engineering team.
- Excellent communication skills that enable interfacing with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a dynamic startup environment.
- Experience in enterprise technology applications architecture, design, development, and maintenance, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and security.
- Data-driven mindset, able to make difficult prioritization decisions when needed.
- Passion for closing pay gaps and creating fairness in the workplace.
- Proven experience with B2B-focused solution and architecture design.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of end-to-end AI systems: from rapid prototyping to production deployment.
- Use best in class cutting edge AI tools as part of your job, including Cursor, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Gemini.
- Manage a team of highly skilled backend and ML engineers, creating a supportive work environment by coaching the team and paving the way for collective success.
- Model technical leadership to the engineers and be responsible for technical decisions made on your team.
- Contribute to and guide the engineering organization’s best practices, such as process improvements and communication.
- Collaborate across the entire engineering organization (backend, frontend, product, and site reliability) to ensure projects meet all team requirements.
- Collaborate on the design and development of innovative features and services delivered to Syndio’s customers.
- Create a culture of diversity and belonging while also leading the hiring processes for new ML engineers.
