Requirements
- Bachelor’s in a scientific field within the life sciences
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate science and influence both internal and external partners, including senior management
- Passion for scientific communication and a talent for translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives fit for the audience
- Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and collaborate across organizational boundaries with a delivery-focused, problem-solving approach
- Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical drug discovery and development process
- In-depth scientific knowledge in the CVRM therapeutic area
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Agile and adaptable, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on delivering high-quality work
- Collaborative spirit and a proven ability to work effectively in a global, matrix research environment
- Strong analytical skills and a proven track record of delivering on business goals within defined timelines
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the internal communication strategy
- Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Late CVRM and Head of Business Planning & Operations to develop content and materials for internal and external meetings, conferences, as well as key presentations
- Define and implement the internal communications and engagement strategy for Late CVRM, aligning with key partners across AstraZeneca
- Liaise with the Late CVRM leadership team to develop strategic communication plans for disease areas and projects
- Contribute to monthly reports, town halls, and presentations for the AstraZeneca Board, ensuring the effective communication of our CVRM story
- Deliver high-quality, engaging events and broadcasts (e.g., town halls) to bring the Late CVRM narrative to life
- Drive the development and communication of science, disease area, and project stories to showcase our innovative science and research, both internally and externally
- Facilitate the creation of relevant content for the Late CVRM internal website and support the communication of scorecard updates
- Foster a culture of community building and standard process sharing within the Late CVRM team
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in a scientific subject area within the life sciences
- 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
