Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in gaming regulatory compliance, risk management, or internal control, preferably within the DFS, sports betting or iGaming categories.
- Deep knowledge of DFS regulations, licensing processes and operational compliance requirements.
- Experience working with gaming regulators, legal teams, and government affairs stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory frameworks to business operations.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage effective compliance programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enhance PrizePicks’ comprehensive gaming regulatory compliance program, including policies, procedures, internal controls, training, and audits.
- Proactively monitor and analyze changes to state and federal DFS regulations and licensure requirements, and assess their impact on PrizePicks’ operations.
- Oversee all aspects of state-by-state DFS licensing, including applications, renewals, compliance testing (e.g., GLI), audits, and ongoing communication with regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to the operation of a high-performing regulatory compliance team, defining roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations, and mentoring team members.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams (product, marketing, legal, engineering, customer support) to ensure cross-functional alignment and compliance.
- Develop, refine, and maintain policies and procedures relevant to the DFS space, conducting regular reviews and gap analyses.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, policy gap analysis, and compliance reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Manage responses to regulatory inquiries, working closely with the Director of Enterprise Compliance on consumer protection issues.
- Review proposed new game types and features for compliance with state gaming laws and regulations, providing strategic guidance on game design and development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to license applications, compliance programs, and regulatory interactions, including use of third-party software.
- Develop and deliver regular reports on compliance activities, risks, and trends to senior management.
- Develop and deliver training programs to employees on relevant gaming regulations and compliance requirements.
- Establish protocols for reporting and investigating potential compliance violations, ensuring timely remediation and corrective action.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with in-house and outside legal counsel.
- Experience with stored value, money transmission, alternative payments, and cryptocurrency.
- Experience in multi-jurisdictional compliance management and regulatory advocacy.
- Experience working with compliance software, gaming vendors, and other related providers.
- Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) or other relevant certification.
