Requirements

  • Proven experience in driving donor growth through acquisition and retention strategies and designing statistically sound experiments for continuous optimization.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar revenue growth and expense budgets, with a track record of building marketing campaigns to drive growth.
  • Ability to pivot between analytical and creative thinking, acting as a data-powered strategist.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret large data sets and make strategic marketing decisions.
  • Strategic thinker with the practical ability to be hands-on as needed.
  • Experience in audience segmentation and data management platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external relationships, with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading data-driven, high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, planning, and implementation of all activities within the assigned area to ensure ALSAC meets its critical goals and supports overall business objectives effectively and efficiently.
  • Design and execute experiments to test and measure marketing campaign effectiveness, including setting up experiments, establishing control groups, and devising A/B tests.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach a team of professionals, providing guidance on strategy, administration, procedures/policies, analysis, and communication.
  • Foster an inclusive environment for team members to excel and deliver their best work, holding the team accountable to deliverable deadlines and coordinating between internal and external teams.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar expense and revenue activities for one-time giving offline donor marketing efforts, including creating and allocating annual budgets, ongoing forecasting, and monitoring results to optimize marketing campaigns and predict donor behavior accurately.
  • Ensure optimal donor experience and performance using advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning to enhance overall marketing effectiveness across offline channels.
  • Lead the analytical insights of donor lifecycle campaigns, donor behavior analysis, and the development and execution of significance testing, along with presenting campaign results and optimization opportunities.
  • Research and test innovative solutions to address areas of opportunity and enhance offline approaches to achieve overarching campaign goals.
  • Act as a change agent, transforming donor behavior understanding into measurable business results.
  • Meet KPIs to measure success across audience-defined categories, such as new donors, multi-year donors, and planned giving donors.
  • Establish offline benchmarks and leverage data to increase personalization efforts, driving more effective and efficient acquisition, engagement, and retention success.
  • Develop and maintain a holistic direct mail (offline) messaging strategy utilizing a data-driven and audience-led approach.
  • Partner with audience and performance marketing strategy teams across ALSAC to develop offline journeys to meet Direct Marketing acquisition and retention goals.
  • Identify and capture high-value audience segments using machine learning and expand targeting capabilities across new and emerging platforms.
  • Work across the department and enterprise to recommend solutions for direct marketing workflow and operational needs, ensuring integration across all divisions and positioning direct marketing fundraising programs for success.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with peers in related departments across the organization.
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
  • Operate within established budgetary parameters and utilize strong problem-solving skills to address issues proactively and develop problem-solving skills among team members.
  • Maintain positive relationships with third-party vendors, partners, organizations, and volunteers, representing ALSAC-St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital positively in all areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in machine learning, data mining, forecasting, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of direct mail list rental and exchange best practices, print production methodology, brand development, and the postal process.
