Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data at startups with meaningful scale
- Hands-on experience with complex relational datasets
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional stakeholders
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for emerging trends in the data analytics space
- Demonstrated managerial acumen
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Lead the applied data science, engineering, & analytics function at Mudflap
- Hire and mentor world-class talent, primarily data analysts, engineers, and scientists
- Drive process improvements to improve both the quality and quantity of insights we are able to deliver
- Drive best practices around experiment design and implementation around the company
- Work closely with product engineering leadership to evolve our data pipelines, warehouse, and related systems
- Act as a thought partner for data-savvy individuals located outside of the core data team
- Exhibit enthusiasm about sharing and adopting best practices with your team
- Be flexible–you understand the needs of a startup
- Be detail-oriented, a fast learner, and scrappy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Postgres or Snowflake
- Ability to prioritize competing requests effectively
- Comfort with evaluating open source platforms and vendor pitches
