Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical or technical discipline
- At least 10 years of analytics/data experience in a dynamic environment. Expertise obtained through progressive analytical and operational work experience
- At least 5 years of direct leadership experience with proven ability to develop your team and execute on strategy
- Outstanding presentation and written communication skills. Able to develop and deliver clear, crisp, and compelling “data stories” including presentations to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to influence decision makers and drive consensus.
- Ability to teach and mentor other employees and provide opportunity for development and growth
- Ability to influence and work collaboratively in a team. Build relationship & networking skills with internal organization and customers
- Expertise in Excel, hands on intermediate to advanced SQL/SAS or other programming language ability
- Experience with database Rational Database Management System (RDBMS) technologies (e.g., SQL server, Greenplum, Oracle)
Responsibilities
- Become a trusted analytical leader and partner to the functional areas of support and proactively identify improvement opportunities
- Communicate project performance results to company leadership
- Partner with leadership to execute on a robust strategy that integrates data and Insights into all aspects of the organizational strategy
- Collaborate with business partners to understand their problems and goals, gather business requirements and develop analytical solutions to support their vision and strategy
- Develop and lead a team of analysts with the skills, capabilities, and passions necessary to successfully drive and sustain a data focused culture. This could include managing analysts with varying skillsets including but not limited to: Data Engineering, Data Analysis, and Data Science
- Define, develop and provide insights, metrics, and analysis to drive the decision-making process and support business strategy for internal and external customers
- Solve complex problems utilizing creative solutions and new perspectives
- Influence all levels of an organization to support projects and/or ideas
- Focus on improving process and enabling technology to provide repeatable reporting solutions
- Lead and implement business intelligence strategy to ensure analytics are accurate, timely and aligned throughout the organization
- Set policies, standards and best practices for data insights team
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Analytics and/or Actuarial designation
- Life/LTC Insurance product and claims process knowledge
- Experience with advanced analytical and modeling data capabilities utilizing Python and/or R
- Experience with big data technologies (i.e. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Databricks, AWS/Azure and etc)
- Expertise in Data Visualization
