Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school (required)
- CIPP/US is strongly preferred
- MBA or similar business-related degree is preferred
- 3-5 years of legal experience, with a strong foundation in law firm and/or corporate legal department settings
- Expertise in technology, privacy law and digital advertising, data governance, media law, and intellectual property
- Admitted to the Bar in Pennsylvania (required)
- Additional certifications in business or technology-related fields (e.g., MBA, CIPP/US) are preferred
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on creating efficient, business-friendly contracts
- Ability to provide clear, actionable, and strategic legal advice across a variety of disciplines
- Experience managing complex legal issues in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, technology, and business development
- Strong problem-solving abilities and business acumen
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage contractual frameworks to streamline the contracting process for internal and external stakeholders
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to advertisers, agencies, technology partners, and vendors
- Provide strategic legal advice and counsel on a variety of matters related to digital advertising and emerging technology
- Ensure compliance with global, federal, and state laws related to privacy, consumer protection, advertising, and e-commerce
- Provide legal guidance for the company’s retail media network, including self-service advertising platforms, clean rooms, sponsored products, and programmatic advertising
- Partner with internal regulatory compliance counsel and the privacy and compliance teams to ensure advertising practices align with data governance practices, data privacy laws and data security laws
- Partner with internal regulatory counsel to synthesize regulatory issues and legal implications to provide guidance on the use of first-party and third-party data in targeted advertising and analytics
- Advise on advertising laws and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines
- Counsel on intellectual property issues related to advertising, trademarks, copyrights, and licensing agreements
- Identify emerging legal issues and collaborate with internal and outside counsel on matters related to privacy, AdTech and regulatory compliance
- Provide subject matter expertise on topics such as technology, privacy, digital advertising, personalization, media, advertising laws and data governance
- Participate in legal department projects, processes, and initiatives
- Collaborate with other Legal team members
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP/US is strongly preferred
- MBA or similar business-related degree is preferred
- Additional certifications in business or technology-related fields (e.g., MBA, CIPP/US) are preferred
- Knowledge of accounting/finance principles and retail operations is preferred
