Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in government relations or public policy, including significant time working on Capitol Hill (as staff to a Member, committee, or leadership office)
- Strong bipartisan relationships in both the House and Senate, particularly with Members and staff involved in key committees relevant to the company’s interests
- Deep understanding of the legislative process, congressional operations, and federal policy dynamics
- Exceptional communication and writing skills; must be able to draft clear and compelling policy materials
- Politically savvy, strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and sound judgment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Must be registered or eligible to register as a federal lobbyist
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key congressional offices, committees, and staff across both chambers and both parties
- Represent the company in meetings with Members of Congress, congressional staff, caucuses, and relevant coalitions to promote the company’s interests
- Monitor and analyze legislative developments that may impact the company; provide timely insights and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Support development and execution of advocacy strategies to advance the company’s federal policy objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure internal alignment on congressional engagement and messaging
- Prepare high-quality briefing materials, talking points, testimony, and written communications for senior executives
- Assist in coordinating Hill events, Member and staff site visits, and industry-facing engagements
- Support federal lobbying compliance, including registration and reporting activities as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the critical minerals, energy, infrastructure, or technology sectors is a plus
- Political or campaign experience is preferred
- Corporate, trade association, or lobbying experience is preferred
