Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of combined relevant work experience in materials, coatings, and/or industrialization for power generation, heavy industrial, chemical process, or similar industry
  • Knowledge of supplier quality processes and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Lead collaboration between the GE Vernova Advanced Research Center (ARC), design engineering team, and suppliers on trials and qualifications needed to define a process for coating direct air capture contactors with carbon capturing sorbent
  • Define standards for raw material source consistency based on ARC testing
  • Define qualification requirements for raw materials, mixing, and coating
  • Define process changes that require vendors to submit a frozen process change request
  • Support sourcing in design of raw material & coating supply chain router
  • Develop coating industrialization strategy
  • Technical support for developing & scaling the strip & re-coat process for servicing contactors
  • Consult on supply chain & design considerations when scaling raw material and coating processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and/or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical engineering
  • Prior experience with industrialization of coating processes
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and qualification procedures; especially in collaboration with external global vendors
  • Desire to work in a highly dynamic environment with constantly changing requirements
  • Desire to continue learning and self-directed skill development
