Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation performing application development within the financial or IT industry
- Five (5) years of experience must include: Developing mainframe technology, coding, and performing test validation using COBOL and COBOL CICS programming language, online transactional based CICS based mainframe applications, VSAM file system, and programming tools including DB2 table, Tablebase tables, Syncsort, IDCAMS, NDM (connect direct), SFTP, DYL280, and MQ
- Conducting mainframe real-time connections with external vendors using dedicated lines, VPNs, and ISP local internet with TCP/IP and HTTPS encrypted protocols
- Performing mainframe development activities using mainframe zOS API integrations with distributed webservices
- Supporting DIT (Developer Unit Testing), SIT (System Integrated Testing), and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) phases of a project lifecycle, including post-implementation production validation, identifying issues, and providing solutions to defects assigned to the application
- Upgrading software versions, certificate updates, and other end-of-life and end-of-vendor support challenges both on the mainframe tech stack and server-based tech stack including Windows server and Linux server updates.
Responsibilities
- Implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team
- Oversee complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirement analysis, application design, coding, testing, and implementation
- Coordinate with and leverage the skills of on-shore and off-shore team members to accomplish tasks and assignments
- Utilize technology in mainframe applications to code and configure applications to meet business requirements as dictated by project requirements
- Provide oversite for production deployments for monthly releases and off-release installations of new developed codes
- Provide production support and data custodian responsibilities for the application being supported.
