Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
- 5+ years related experience
- Excellent computer skills including analyzing data, creating presentations
- Proficient in engineering theory and principles of automotive energy storage systems
- Time management skills to meet agreed upon customer deliverables, able to manage multiple projects
- Interpersonal styles and communication skills to both lead and work effectively with local and international team members
- Technical writing ability to create written engineering evaluation reports
- Ability to read, interpret and generate engineering drawings and specifications
- Must be able to travel domestic and international
Responsibilities
- Lead Global Battery Cell Product Development Team (PDT) with suppliers and cross functional teams
- Lead design and packaging of Cell into the Battery Module/Pack and battery/vehicle systems through collaboration with Advanced Engineering and Joint Venture Cell partners
- Work with Designers & Module DREs to ensure interface, packaging and integration compatibility
- Leverage lessons learned from other programs and ensure compliance to Bill of Design (BOD)
- Work with manufacturing to ensure buildability, support root cause identification and resolution. Assist in determining quality requirements.
- Work with service to ensure serviceability
- Lead &/or support DFMEA, DRBFM, and DRBTR activities
- Support DV/PV activities and provide input to ADVP&R plan
- Resolve all development/validation issues and manage change control.
- Support Propulsion Program Teams with execution status updates and expedient resolution of cell issues
- Lead cell production quality excellence through warranty deep dive, expedient resolution of issues, and proactive engagement in cell production quality
- Work with Module DRE and cross functional teams to execute optimized cell and module design
- Facilitate agreement and manage publication of Component Technical Specification (CTS) and Interface Control Documents (ICD)
- Support purchasing in sourcing of components and PO for engineering builds
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, and supplier partners to optimize cost and improve supply chain resiliency
- Work with component suppliers to meet design and timing objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science degree in Engineering
- Experience with release of propulsion systems parts
- 5+ years of experience with cell engineering
- Design for Six Sigma Certification
- Experience with Unigraphics NX
- Experience in structural, thermal, electrical, electrochemical analysis
- Demonstrated ability to run and manage product development/program teams
