Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- A Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- 4-6 years of engineering experience for Nuclear Engineer III.
- Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience for Nuclear Engineer III.
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Sr Nuclear Engineer.
- Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience for Sr Nuclear Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates high conduct of safety culture (personal, nuclear and environmental).
- Manage the development, design, and implementation of limited scope plant modifications to McGuire Nuclear Station.
- Responsible for developing the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for plant modifications installed in the plant.
- Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, determines and presents recommendations to resolve issues.
- Provide ongoing support of assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities.
- Develop or revise design specifications or technical requirements documents to support engineering design changes.
- Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by engineering design changes.
- Develop safety screens and evaluations that support engineering design changes.
- Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents impacted by engineering design changes.
- Conduct formal self-assessments and benchmarking to ensure McGuire engineering performance remains the industry best.
- Lead or support McGuire Engineering during internal and external audits and inspections.
- Conduct plant walkdowns and inspections as required for license renewal and other program support activities.
- Provide general Electrical Engineering and emergent issue support during plant outages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program will be considered in lieu of a B.S engineering degree.
- Proficient in engineering theories and principles.
- Proficient in principles of project management.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- State registration as a Professional Engineer.
- Working level knowledge of pipe stress software programs.
- Working level knowledge of nuclear industry cyber security control practices.
- Experience with nuclear industry standard design process.
