Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database administration.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Strong expertise in implementing and managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices, including encryption and auditing.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation.
  • Project management skills and the ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and switch to higher priority tasks when required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain our SQL Server database infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  • Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups and database mirroring.
  • Perform routine database administration tasks, including backup and recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with application developers to optimize database design, queries, and stored procedures for performance and scalability.
  • Establish and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.
  • Lead database-related projects, including version upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior DBAs and team members.
  • Stay up to date with the latest SQL Server developments and best practices.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Financial Industry is highly desired.
  • Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are a plus.
  • Experience with IDERA software is a plus.
