Responsibilities
- Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design.
- Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and must make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.
- Assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts.
- Database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and defining cloud system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
- Define Support application systems through careful review and understanding of multiple databases.
- Engineer data solutions to combine multiple databases into a single integrated system.
- Provide data engineering solutioning expertise to development team(s) supporting systems and applications.
- Develop and install data exchange / transfer solutions to ensure the secure transfer of data between systems.
- Apply data quality control measures.
- Review database security measures and ensure databases meet customer standards for data security.
- Leverage experience in customer industry, mission, or area to provide context and help ensure elaboration of problems occur.
- Ensure system performance through monitoring and logging of server performance, errors, and security incidents.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies.
