Requirements
- HS Diploma and 2 years experience performing lab experiments; troubleshooting, problem solving of laboratory issues required.
- Strong grammar skills and the ability to write clear reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the technology engineers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Responsibilities
- Understand assembly, repair and test processes & procedures.
- Interface and collaborate effectively with others.
- Understand SMT/PTH primary and rework process fundamentals.
- Operate standard SMT (i.e. screen printers, pick and placement, reflow, BGA rework), and PTH (i.e. spray fluxer, wave solder) equipment.
- Understand hardware, test equipment, software and program languages used by the group.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate equipment to specifications.
- Perform laboratory experiments, collect/document test results and support projects as directed.
- Maintain documentation of experiment and research findings using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Perform cross-section, dye and pry and other analyses as directed.
- Assist in evaluating results of testing and analysis.
- Understanding of the anatomy of a solder joint.
- Support Jabil manufacturing groups with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
- Comply with time tracking procedures for all work performed.
- Follow directions and instructions as directed by engineering staff supervisor.
- Be familiar with and maintain relevant industry standards and specifications.
- Be familiar with advancements in technology as a continuous improvement of core competency.
- Understand and adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by engineering staff.
- Understanding of Hazardous Materials handling and ESD avoidance procedures.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
- Complete training requirements identified by department manager.
- Continuous improvement of core competency in advanced technology.
- Comply with departmental time tracking procedures for all work performed.
- Maintain General lab maintenance and cleanliness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree preferred.
