Requirements
- 3 – 5 years of experience of engineering leadership, ideally leading data-focused teams in high-scale data processing.
- A BS in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline.
- Sharp technical acumen with a solid understanding of modern distributed systems and their capabilities and limitations.
- Experience building data products, services, and workflows that provide high-quality and highly reliable data to customers.
- Excellence in communication: Setting context with the team, stakeholders, partners, and leadership. Ability to communicate effectively, directly with candor and authenticity.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of strong engineers building high-scale, highly reliable data processing systems.
- Set the team vision and roadmap, strategically connecting the goals of the company and our product to the team’s short and long term deliverables and navigating competing organizational priorities.
- Effectively partner with a diverse group of stakeholders to enable healthy and impactful collaboration among teams.
- Monitor and proactively address any drain on the team’s productivity and efficiency, ensuring the team can focus the majority of their efforts on innovation.
- Hire and grow a diverse, high-performing team of top-tier data engineering talent to this team.
- Provide direct, candid, and effective feedback to channel their strengths to impact and address their growth areas.
