Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a related engineering field, or an equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in fire protection engineering and process safety, with demonstrated experience in data center design, development, construction, and commissioning projects.
- 5 years of experience managing technical projects in a changing industry and demonstrating independent problem-solving leadership.
- 5 years of experience in practical application of International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and relevant NFPA standards (including NFPA 1, 13, 68, 69, 70, 72, 101, 855).
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute comprehensive fire protection and life safety strategies for facilities, including large-scale industrial, manufacturing, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and commercial projects.
- Ensure code compliance and develop performance-based design solutions for fire safety systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement fire safety programs.
- Manage and implement fire safety initiatives from design through commissioning, understanding and mitigating associated risks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Safety Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Functional Safety Professional (CFSP).
- Licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineer (P.E.).
- Experience in fire protection engineering and process safety within manufacturing of electrical and solid state devices, large scale energy storage systems, warehouses, or petrochemical/LNG facilities, in addition to data centers.
