Requirements

  • Must have at least two years’ experience with Distributed Antenna system design.
  • An understanding of the technical aspects of Public Safety Distributed Antenna design.
  • Expert knowledge of RF principles, electrical theory, and wireless network design.
  • Demonstrated expertise presenting RF designs and performance analysis reports.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cell site integration, performance testing, network optimization and network operations, including the following technologies: CDMA, EVDO, UMTS, HSPA and LTE.
  • Advanced proficiency deploying and commissioning DAS networks based on equipment at least one of the following OEMs Axell, Commscope, Mobile Access, ADRF and Solid.
  • iBwave certification level 1 (level 2, 3 is a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Define appropriate network architecture and equipment for each project.
  • Lead local jurisdiction technical meetings to establish technical requirements and scopes of work.
  • Define design and system performance requirements.
  • Create and review designs using engineering tools such as iBwave.
  • Create and transform in building wireless designs to construction applications.
  • Act as resource, providing technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction.
  • Provide efficiency reviews and/or value engineering options for existing designs.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants and project personnel.
  • Design code-compliant, contract-compliant and cost-effective systems while reviewing scopes of work, specifications, plans and legal contracts.
  • Manage multiple projects and provide regular status updates and progress reports to customers and management.
  • Prepare and submit testing reports, close-out packages and acceptance documentation. Compile and maintain all project documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Prepare technical design and testing standards as assigned.
  • Manage contractors/vendors ensuring work is performed in accordance with company’s standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with building, fire and electrical codes is a plus.
