Requirements
- Post-Secondary education in Dance performance, Choreographic instruction and/or management/equivalent in Dance training is strongly preferred
- At least 3 yrs. professional experience as a dancer in theatrical entertainment – must include acting, vocal, and choreographic performance and/or instruction
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Computer proficiency in Keynote is an asset, as well as: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Willingness & ability to travel to the U.S. and internationally for lengthy periods of time
- Agreeable to all maritime sailing and seafarer guidelines, requirements and regulations, including sailing onboard the DCL ships statused as “crew
- and assigned to the crew manifest
- Able to work with a flexible and fluid rehearsal schedule including weekends and long days during busy periods.
Responsibilities
- Teach and maintain various choreography, staging and blocking within DCL entertainment offerings, ensuring Characters and Mainstage are performing at their highest quality standard
- Prioritize the Disney values of: a positive and respectful workplace culture, relevancy & belonging, inspiration & aspiration, performance recognition & feedback.
- Responsible for sustaining Disney creative standards, including but not limited to show quality, character integrity, and Disney standards of safety.
- Lead rehearsals and ensure all choreography and staging are approached from a storytelling perspective
- Establish a rehearsal environment that always supports various levels of proficiency in dance
- Encourage all performers regarding the importance of sustainability and excellence of all performances
- Partner with DCL Artistic Operations, DLE Casting and Costuming to develop all performer tracking documents
- Partner with DCL shipboard leadership in the ongoing replacement and implementation of talent
- Lead choreographic auditions (when available) for DLE Talent Casting
- Support DCL Artistic Operations in the scheduling of rehearsals – both short and long term
- Maintain a current library of DCL blocking books
- Document choreography and staging for new offerings as well as adjustments for existing content
- Organize and Manage rehearsal/show video files and documentation
- Instruct fellow Dance Supervisors, and/or contracted creative professionals, in the transfer of DCL creative and operational knowledge
- Collaborate and partner with a range of Disney professionals, to include: Disney Cruise Line Resident Directors, Production Managers, Production Supervisors, Character Managers, Dance Supervisors, Vocal Directors, Shipboard Cruise Directors, Assistant Cruise Directors, and onboard Entertainment Team staff, Disney Live Entertainment Creative Directors, Show Directors, Choreographers, Production Teams and Costuming Teams, Disney Live Entertainment Talent Casting, Disney Character Programs & Development.

- Sound understanding of Disney character brand usage and how it interfaces with the Disney Cruise Line repertory
- Knowledge of Disney Character Animation and how it interfaces with the Disney Cruise Line repertory theatre creative
- Knowledge of DCL Entertainment standards of quality and safety
