Requirements

  • 1 + years of related experience
  • Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and best practices for configuring and tuning security tools
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize system performance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • US Citizenship Required: Yes

Responsibilities

  • Performs forensic analysis of digital information and gathers and handles evidence. Identifies network computer intrusion evidence and perpetrators
  • Investigates, analyzes, and responds to cyber incidents within a network environment or enclave
  • Uses data collected from a variety of cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) to analyze events that occur within their environments for the purpose of mitigating threats
  • Interprets, analyzes, and reports all events and anomalies in accordance with computer network directives, including initiating, responding, and reporting discovered events
  • Evaluates, tests, recommends, coordinates, monitors, and maintains cybersecurity policies, procedures, and systems, including access management for hardware, firmware, and software
  • Ensures that cybersecurity plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with cybersecurity standards
  • Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents and improve security

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission
  • Knowledge and familiarity with USCENTCOM’s IT environment
