Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, preferably in a defense, aerospace, robotics, or autonomous systems environment.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-171, CMMC, etc.).
- Experience securing embedded systems, IoT, or autonomous platforms.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, encryption methods, and secure communications (including SATCOM, RF, and mesh networks).
- Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cybersecurity controls for embedded systems, onboard communications, cloud services, and mission systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing on all relevant systems.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and incident response plans in compliance with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, and CMMC 2.0 requirements.
- Ensure secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices are in place across engineering teams.
- Support accreditation efforts under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to obtain and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) for DoD systems.
- Support internal and external audits and security reviews.
- Monitor emerging threats and implement proactive defenses against potential exploits in autonomous systems.
