Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- 5–7 years of senior-level experience in related technologies, including hands-on work with AWS.
- Deep understanding of AWS security practices, and a shared responsibility model.
- Experience securing large enterprise AWS environments (5,000+ users or assets).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation or Terraform) for automating security operations.
- Proficient in scripting and using tools such as AWS CLI, SDKs, and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of network and endpoint security principles, logging, monitoring, and incident response in cloud environments.
- Ability to assess and communicate security risks to technical and executive audiences.
- Experience leading or mentoring teams in a security or cloud engineering capacity.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with business units, development teams, and strategic partners to define secure, scalable cloud solutions on AWS.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and key contributor for initiatives involving secure deployment, architecture reviews, and risk reduction in the AWS environment.
- Conduct ongoing security posture assessments and configuration reviews across AWS services to ensure strong security controls and compliance alignment.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams by sharing AWS security best practices and providing hands-on training and guidance.
- Contribute security-focused requirements to product strategy and cloud roadmap planning.
- Participate as a key contributor in the organization’s cloud security practice.
- Administer, tune, and continuously enhance AWS security policies relating to our Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) program.
- Stay informed on AWS roadmap developments and ensure the organization is leveraging new security capabilities effectively.
- Help develop governance guidance for secure use of AWS services including S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, and more.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strongly preferred: AWS Security Specialty Certification and AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification.
- Highly desired: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or other relevant security certifications.
