Requirements
- Detailed knowledge of modern experimental cryogenic physics techniques including troubleshooting associated mechanical hardware, analog electronics and noise analysis
- Familiarity with thermal modeling software
- Scientific programming for data analysis and hardware interfacing (specific language is not critical)
- Experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and journal publications
- Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on cryogenic instrumentation supporting advanced measurement techniques
- Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment
- Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods
- U.S. citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required
Responsibilities
- Be a main contributor toward the development of cryogenic hardware supporting spin qubit devices and testing relevant environmental control requirements
- Lead cryogenic design and associated cryogenic measurements by understanding all system requirements and how they translate to hardware requirements
- Develop an experimental plan and lead the successful execution if requirements are unknown
- Complete tasks through proper data analysis, modeling, and assimilating historical understanding
- Work with a dynamic integrated engineering team and collaborate with others in a constructive manner
- Communicate technical information to other team members or management via oral presentations, written reports and journal publications
