Requirements

  • Experience with design, building and testing of Stirling cycle cryogenic coolers
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks required; experience with PDM tools a plus
  • Working knowledge and practical/hands on experience with evaluation, assembly and testing of hardware (thermal instrumentation, strain gauges, metrology (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators), etc)
  • Experience directing and working with production to support builds and develop build processes
  • Experience in 2D drawings creation and GD&T
  • BSME/MSME required from an accredited institution
  • Proficient with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High energy, proactive orientation; comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Must be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or support the end-to-end design, development, fabrication, and testing of cryogenic coolers—from initial concept and requirements definition through detailed design, prototyping, and validation, to full-scale production
  • Lead and/or support the design and development of electromechanical systems – perform data acquisition, diagnostics, and performance troubleshooting in the context of cryogenic coolers
  • Create technical documentation such as application notes, test documentation, FAQs, user guides, and product specifications in support of TeledyneFLIR’s OEM products
  • Provide ongoing engineering support for production
  • Support assembly, testing and development activities for the OEM products group
  • Support for the production line including yield improvements, process improvements and various efficiencies for our OEM&E products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design and build of electromechanical systems for -data acquisition, troubleshooting and development
  • Thermal, fluid, electromagnetic and structural analysis using simulation software is a plus
  • Labview and/or C# a plus
