Requirements
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina required
- Successful completion of a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs, certified by the Council on Certification or, who is re-certified by the Council on Recertification required
- Master’s Degree in Nursing required
- 3 years CRNA experience required
- BLS and ACLS required per policy guidelines
Responsibilities
- Provides anesthesia care to patients who present with complicated, pre-existing disease, advanced disease states and/or who present with complex and unique anesthetic requirements
- Researches, communicates, instructs and coordinates the anesthetic care for these patients with their anesthesia colleagues
- Demonstrates clinical methods for student registered nurse anesthetists so that they may gain experience in the provision of anesthesia care to these patients
- Performs additional departmental duties pertinent to these patients as directed by Leadership
