Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Proficient knowledge of physical security and crime prevention methods, regulatory environment, banking industry, policies and procedures, products, services, systems and reporting
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends
  • Skill in mentoring/coaching others
  • Skill in identifying complex problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options and implementing effective solutions
  • Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating, analyzing and enhancing the security posture of owned and leased facilities
  • Identifying physical security vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Providing internal and external direction and advice on protection of organizational assets and human resources
  • Managing relationships with senior business leaders and acting as ambassadors for GSI’s Physical Security programs
  • Executing on physical security plans, programs, procedures
  • Providing support with analysis, reporting, and recommendations for improvement
  • Creating and submitting detailed reports and logs to supervisors
  • Identifying various types of fraud and escalation procedures
  • Recommending and helping implement emergency response plans for employees and business groups considered high risk for physical security incidents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional designation in security management (e.g. ASIS Certified Protection Professional [CPP], CSIS Accredited Security Professional [ASP] or Certified Security Professional [CSP], preferred
  • Familiar with risk management platforms strongly preferred
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to create professional reports and presentations
  • Experience in sectors such as critical infrastructure, healthcare, finance, law enforcement / government
  • Familiarity with physical security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, NIST, DHS Risk Management Process)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or mapping/GIS platforms for spatial risk assessments
