Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience as a Remedial Management Senior Officer, Credit Manager, Senior Credit Analyst, Credit Risk Manager, or related position involving credit risk management for the financial services industry
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements from the Office of Comptroller of Currency, Federal Reserve, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
- Intra-agency regulatory classification
- Assessing entities, customers, and transactions
- Risk Rating Models
- Analyzing credit limits, exposure components, risk rating, classifications, and collateral details
- Credit risk analysis for distressed clients
- Evaluating Corrective Action Plans and developing remediation strategies
- 7 years of experience in project management, including planning and execution of Risk Differentiated Reviews/Audits
Responsibilities
- Assess the effectiveness of credit risk management
- Oversee Banking and International Credit Review (BICR) Entities through periodic full Risk Differentiated Reviews (RDR) and quarterly reviews (Business Monitoring)
- Lead BICR reviews for assigned Entity LATAM Central America and the Caribbean and any other Entity that could be assigned from the existing portfolio of the bank
- Review transactions to analyze credit data, legal and corporate structures to determine if the risk involved in extending credit or any other product type is in line with the bank’s risk appetite
- Perform sovereign credit risk and cross-border risk analysis to identify, monitor, and provide solutions to current and emerging credit risks across business lines
- Perform assessment of the quality of assigned portfolios and relationships, including identification and evaluation of emerging risks and the effectiveness of credit risk controls
- Evaluate the quality and adequacy of credit analysis and exposure analysis as well as accuracy and appropriateness of risk ratings and classifications of corporate, commercial, and high-net worth relationships
- Meet with stakeholders to conduct business reviews
- Identify and define risk management strategies and credit risks; perform accounting, financial management, and financial modeling
- Review and assess effectiveness of existing credit risk controls for assigned businesses
- Evaluate business and risk staffing levels to assess the effects on assigned Review Entities
- Prepare Credit Assessment Documents, Sample Rationale Documents, and Fundamental Credit Review Reports created for the assigned Review Entities
- Support Credit Review Managers, Senior Credit Review Managers and Global Head of BICR on cluster and/or global tasks
- Present findings and significant deficiencies to Credit Review Portfolio Managers and BICR Senior Management
