Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or in a related finance occupation performing credit risk reviews within the financial industry
  • Experience must include: Assessing the quality of credit cards and personal loan portfolios, including identifying and evaluating emerging risks; Applying principles of effective Credit Risk Appetite Framework; Using statistical tools including decision trees, regression analysis, and descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive data analysis; Reviewing the effectiveness of credit risk strategies, policies, and credit tests; Applying effective issue management principles to remediate credit issues
  • In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree and six (6) years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate retail portfolios, strategies, and credit risks
  • Assess the effectiveness of credit risk management of assigned businesses
  • Propose pragmatic solutions to risk and control issues
  • Maintain ongoing contact with a review entity’s management through continuous business monitoring and corrective action follow-up
  • Execute business monitoring and conduct reviews in accordance with the FCR Manual
  • Oversee assigned FCR review entities through quarterly business monitoring and periodic reviews
  • Assess the quality of assigned portfolios and relationships and identify and evaluate emerging risks
  • Assess the appropriateness of ratings of assigned retail review entities
  • Assess the appropriateness, completeness, and usage trends of the credit risk components of the Risk Appetite Framework
  • Assess the effectiveness of the credit risk processes and standards to promote leading practices and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Prepare Credit Assessment Documents in accordance with and at the quality standards required by the FCR Manual and review guides
  • Use tools and techniques, including sampling and transactional testing, to effectively identify and assess adherence to credit policies as well as risk trends
  • Evaluate the appropriateness of Corrective Action Plans resulting from reviews or business monitoring and validate the effectiveness after implementation by the business
  • Be accountable for the quality and consistency of work product, including Credit Assessment Documents, Sample Rationale Documents, and Fundamental Credit Review Reports
  • Participate in analytical projects as needed by GRR Management
