Requirements
- Must be admitted to practice law in the State of Arizona and in good standing with applicable license requirements.
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- 3+ years of experience with trial practice or other administrative hearing proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Represents Mercy Care at administrative hearings related to member appeals/grievances and provider claim disputes for Medicaid and Medicare Advantage D-SNP lines of business.
- Applies legal knowledge to cases at the administrative hearing level, including preparing and drafting memorandums, motions, conducting legal research, preparing expert witness testimony, and preparing exhibits for hearing.
- Conducts settlement negotiations with opposing counsel or parties and drafts settlement agreements.
- May be assigned other legal projects from time-to-time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare law, including Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Managed Care Organizations.
