Requirements
- J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school and admission to bar of Massachusetts, Connecticut or New York or ability to waive into the Massachusetts, Connecticut, or New York bar
- Five (5) years of relevant legal experience with a law firm or in-house position preferred; at least (3) three or more years of practical legal experience, in either a law firm or in-house setting
- Broad transactional and contracting experience to handle a variety of energy company contracting matters
Responsibilities
- Provides legal counsel and advice to corporate development and other business areas with respect to negotiated acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, due diligence, structuring and other agreements.
- Represent the company in major transactions and negotiations.
- Assist internal clients with contract drafting, negotiation and interpretation.
- Work closely with clients, other in-house counsel, company management, and, in certain matters, outside counsel.
- Assist with compliance efforts, including compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations as well as corporate policies and procedures.
- Support the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel and perform other projects as assigned.
