Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science/analytics, environmental science or sustainability, economics, risk management, project management, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of work experience preferably in sustainability and environmental management related roles.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, in particular Excel and PowerPoint; must be proficient in handling large data sets and be able to analyze numbers and draw insightful conclusions.
  • Understanding of key sustainability themes such as climate transition, renewable energy procurement, circularity and modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • Experience in environmental and social risk assessment/due diligence of organizations/supply chain.
  • Familiarity with ESG regulations and disclosure frameworks (e.g. CSRD, CSDD, SECR, NFRD, CDP, SASB, GHG Protocol, UK Modern Slavery Act, Australia Modern Slavery Act.)
  • Possess a strong risk management and control mindset linked with the ability to support the delivery of strategic outcomes.
  • Takes initiative to keep abreast of sustainability developments to broaden their knowledge and apply to day job; self-starter with ability to drive and deliver projects.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and able to navigate a degree of ambiguity.
  • Manage relationships with relevant local and global teams, and particularly teams focused on sourcing and supply chain, finance, communications and other stakeholder business functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate key messages, escalate issues and drive consensus.
  • Strong work ethic, results oriented, taking accountability for delivering quality output, with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of the Sustainable Operations team to help deliver the sustainability strategy for the firm’s workplaces and supply chain: net zero strategies, operational goals, responsible sourcing and supply chain risk management, and social sustainability.
  • Net zero program support. Partner closely with the program lead to deliver: Data Management, Analysis and Modeling: Conduct detailed analysis and interpretation of emissions data within our operational boundary, including forecasting, trend analysis, and identification of emissions reductions opportunities. Assist in the preparation of data inputs and updates for risk registers, related to near-term project implementation, adhering to the firm’s carbon accounting methodology. Support the coordination and delivery of analytical outputs, including scenario impact modeling, predictive analytics, and cost-benefit analysis of decarbonization projects.
  • Support for Strategy Development and Implementation: Contribute meaningfully to the development and deployment of data-driven sustainability initiatives. Assist in preparing materials detailing decarbonization strategies and implementation plans. Assist in tracking program deliverables, deadlines and project status updates.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting: Build and maintain relationships with program stakeholders to track progress and enable internal and external actions and reporting. Work closely with analytics and finance teams to integrate sustainability requirements into program strategies, implementation plans, and emissions reduction actions. Monthly and quarterly performance data compilation analysis, including program summaries and data trend visualization.
  • Research and Standards Compliance: Perform research assistance on sustainability standards, updates, and goal setting, including market standards and policy research.
  • Small Vendor program support: Support the team to find and assess small vendors, track and report vendor spend, deliver training and strategic initiatives, represent the firm at relevant domestic conferences.
  • Supply Chain Risk management: Assist with screening of environmental and human rights risks within supply chain, review and assess any negative media alerts for our supply chain. Review vendor responses to the firm’s due diligence questionnaires and recommend remediation action as appropriate. Make recommendations for continued enhancements to our process.
  • Communication & Training: Maintain relevant materials relating to the team’s standard operating procedures, sustainability requirements, training and communications as strategies develop. Support communication with program stakeholders on program initiatives, requirements and advocacy.
  • Reporting: Support on managing relevant sustainability data, benchmarking, performance metrics and preparing reports such as the annual Sustainability Report and other sustainability-related disclosures of the firm.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Attainment of relevant professional certifications is a plus (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, LEED/BREEAM/WELL, Certified Energy Management).
  • Understanding of GHG emissions accounting a plus.
