Requirements
- 10+ years experience in communications/public relations.
- Experience developing and executing on communications strategy for crisis response, business news, safety comms.
- Very strong writing and communication skills.
- Experience in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment and ability to multi-task with a high bar for detail.
- Existing relationships with business, tech media and event organizers.
Responsibilities
- Help tell the Waymo story and help communicate corporate, business, safety, and some new market news to external audiences.
- Lead communications strategy for crisis comms and response. Support additional comms announcements around new markets, business news, and safety comms. Includes narrative development, writing, and execution.
- Build and maintain key relationships with media, conference organizers, researchers, and other external industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the rest of the PR team as well as key cross functional teams including Safety, Legal, Partnerships, Public Affairs, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and other internal teams.
- Be responsible for some executive communications, including developing talking points, FAQs, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the technology or automotive industries (in-house or agency).
- Experience in Corporate or Crisis PR roles specifically at tech companies or agencies.
- Experience launching and building communications strategy for new products or new markets.
- Bachelor’s degree, focus in marketing, communications, journalism.
