Requirements

  • This position requires either eight years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the coordination and administration of all federal, state, and institutional aid for student-athletes at FGCU.
  • Performs eligibility review of athletic scholarships in accordance with current NCAA regulations.
  • Responsible for accurate manual awarding of athletic scholarships, updating financial aid offers, and processing adjustments when necessary.
  • Responsible for foundation scholarship awarding and monitoring in collaboration with athletics, foundation, and financial aid office.
  • Serves as back up to other financial aid and scholarship functional areas, including but not limited to, eligibility and awarding in compliance with established rules and regulations.
  • Attends annual NCAA Seminars and stays up to date on NCAA regulations that impact financial aid.
  • Organizes and maintains system of tracking timely disbursement of athletic scholarships.
  • Responsible for electronic organizing, filing, and storage of financial aid documentation for student athletes.
  • Assists with reviews of satisfactory academic progress appeals and revision forms for student-athletes.
  • Serves as liaison between the financial aid office and the athletic department to develop a collaborative working relationship.
  • Facilitates and performs FAFSA and scholarship applications outreach to student-athletes.
  • Reviews, monitors and processes weekly financial aid reports such as negative unmet need and over-award reports.
  • Assists front desk staffing during peak time or as needed.
  • May provide information to students and parents at preview and other special programs for prospective and current students.
