Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, environmental sciences, energy, or related field required.
- 1+ years’ experience through internship, or full-time role at a trade association or graduate work specific to energy, climate or government affairs is highly desired but not required.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify problems or inefficiencies, research alternatives and improvement, and resolve or implement solutions.
- Demonstrated analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Ability to develop, manage and/or revamp projects independently, and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work with remote team members across all U.S. time zones, and to adapt and respond quickly to change.
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures with strong workplace ethics and a positive team attitude.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Pro required.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Markets & Transmission teams including database management; reviewing invoices and coordinating with ACP’s finance team on payment; managing subscriptions; completing shipping and mailings; making photocopies; ordering supplies; scheduling and all needed preparation for internal and external, virtual and in person meetings; keeping track of internal staff updates and necessary tasks; and other administrative duties as needed.
- Respond to requests for information from Markets and Transmission Directors pulling from ACP’s published works and internal data to form unique factoids, factsheets, and presentations tailored to the region, state, or specific event, as needed.
- Support Markets and Transmission committees and subcommittees by maintaining databases of committee members, facilitating communications to committee members, scheduling conference calls with committees, and coordinating logistics for in-person committee meetings. Prepare agendas, securely distribute supporting documents, create presentations, and take notes at committee meetings and on committee conference calls as requested. Ensure the MyCleanPower for the Markets and Transmission Committee.
- Assist VP, Markets & Transmission with monitoring consultants’ contracts and invoices to ensure that contracts are submitted and approved through ACP’s contract management system, that the contracts are up-to-date, and invoices are coming in and being processed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and file electronic or paper copies of reports, minutes, proposals, project files, organizational files and other documents as requested and maintain team file archives on ACP’s shared drive.
- Assist with preparing latest content and pulling existing content as needed for educational webinars. Assist in preparing engaging, well-organized slide deck for presentations.
- Support internal and external communications by contributing to the Chronicle, Markets & Transmission newsletter, and other requests for key updates in the markets & transmission space.
- Work with Markets & Transmission and conference teams to facilitate special invited guests to ACP-led meetings and thought leadership forums throughout the year. Assist with invitations to events as needed and determine who should send the invite.
- Research state legislation, opposition groups, legislator voting records, and other items as needed.
- Research RTO/ISO markets and operations rules, FERC proposed rulemakings, and high-level updates on developing NERC standards.
- Support the ACP internship program by updating intern position description, reviewing applications, and conducting interviews in partnership with both VPs and Human Resources for internships on the Markets & Transmission team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excitement and interest in working to advance the clean energy sector.
- Experience with Concur, Higher Logic, ProTech (or similar CRM software), or Fiscal Note (or similar legislative tracking software) preferred.
