Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, animal or plant science, general agricultural or agroeconomic options.
- Member of the Ordre des Agronomes du Québec or committed to adhere within 6 months.
- Knowledge of the dairy cattle industry and dairy production.
- Effective and quality communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to work in various contexts: autonomously and collaboratively.
- Ability to travel between the various sectors with occasional overnight stays.
- Willingness to adapt to extended working hours, as needed.
- Bilingual, English and French, spoken and written.
- Proficient in the use of computer tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ease of learning new software.
Responsibilities
- Organize, coordinate and lead knowledge transfer opportunities and facilitators’, regional or other members’ meetings on Agropur’s activities or industry updates.
- Support the member in their efforts to deliver quality milk.
- Monitor the improvement of milk quality on the farm arising from the milk marketing agreements and/or policies implemented by Agropur.
- Follow-up on non-compliant milk quality test results with members, in accordance with the milk quality intervention protocol on the farm.
- Provide members with the necessary explanations regarding the Cooperative’s By-Laws and Policy.
- Collect duly completed membership application forms and member reimbursement requests and forward them to the head office for examination.
- Inform and encourage members to implement animal welfare and sustainable development best practices in accordance with Codes, standards, policies and other Agropur or industry programs (ex: proAction).
- Collaborate with various committees with a purpose to offer a diverse and quality service offering.
- Stay on the lookout for elements of the dairy industry that can have an impact on the members of the Cooperative.
