Controls Engineer – Dematic Multi-Shuttle Systems – Dms

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of related experience
• Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of warehouse automation
• Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular area of conveyance and sortation equipment
• Experience with both Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• Able to commission critical path work independently
• Able to troubleshoot electrical issues that arise on site
• Willingness to travel up to 70% domestically

Responsibilities

• Leads the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software
• Works heavily with Dematic Multi-shuttle Systems (DMS)
• Provides support in complex material specification, schematic preparation, bill-of-materials development, and appropriate follow-up
• Recommends ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
• Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting more complex, less clearly defined issues
• Defines a path to solution of complex or unusual problems to others
• Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems
• Seeks-out growth and knowledge in a specific technical area
• Leads complex projects through the project life cycle, including all documentation and forecasting, referring unusual situations to others
• Lead a team of engineers and take accountability for successful execution of projects
• Create robust staffing and execution plans
• Manage project budgets and proactively identify plans to mitigate cost overruns.
