Requirements
- Bachelors degree and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency is required.
Responsibilities
- Establishes, or recommends to management, major economic objectives and policies for company.
- Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Develops and maintains department organization to ensure adequate resources are assigned to ensure plant goals and objectives are achievable.
- Develops department operating budget and monitors performance. Takes corrective action(s) to ensure budget is met within acceptable limits.
- Directs preparation of budgets. Monitors plant performance to budgets.
- Confers with management and other staff concerning financial performance.
- Identifies training and development needs of subordinates and develops plans and recommendations.
- Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining adequate internal controls to ensure reliable financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Works with other departments within the plant (materials, quality, operations, HR, engineering) to ensure that transactions they initiate that affect finances are properly accounted for and in alignment with the generally accepted accounting principles.
- Works with business unit and corporate accounting support departments as needed to ensure the plant is in alignment with the company accounting practices, guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Directly supervises 1 to 3 employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle or ERP (enterprise resource planning system) equivalent experience related to company financial management preferred.
- Exposure to a work force management system like Kronos is preferred.
- Experience with an HRIS like Workday is very helpful.
